Scarlett Oak Equestrian Centre offers a variety of holiday packages to suit its international guest riders.
Scarlett Oak Equestrian Centre is the ultimate New Zealand equestrian escape, situated on a tranquil property a mere 15 minutes from the airport and 20 minutes from town. The region offers a whole host of attractions, including:
- Wine tastings and lunch at nearby Langdales Vineyard, two minutes walk away
- Girls pampering at nearby spa
- Golf at McLeans Island
- Orana Wildlife Park, a five minute drive away
- Antarctic Centre
- River Trekking
- Botanical Gardens
- Museums/galleries/shops/cafes/restaurants
Whether you are after a long or short stay package, we have several options to suit your needs and riding goals. Guests are welcome to stay in one of our two-bedroom self-contained cottages on the grounds, with a private garden and view of the grass paddocks, breakfast included. For guests staying onsite, check in is on Tuesday at 2pm and check out Sunday morning at 10 am.
What could be better than a week’s stay in the beautiful horsey province of Canterbury, New Zealand? New Zealand has produced some of the great eventers and to ride in New Zealand is to experience the spirit and freedom of the region. We specialise in eventing, but also offer tuition in dressage and show jumping. Our riding programs run from Wednesday morning to Saturday afternoon but could be extended or shortened to suit your needs, please enquire. During your stay, adding to lessons on the property, the team will take you trekking to the nearby river shore or for a breeze on the beach. There is cross country schooling at the nearby National Equestrian Centre that hosts FEI *** Competitions.

For all our guests, there is also the opportunity to participate in competitions in the weekends. Please enquire at least a month in advance.
As part of our holiday packages we offer additional services, available on request at an additional cost:
- Appetizer menu and drinks (dinner only)
- Fill your cottage kitchen with your favorite goodies. Give us a shopping list (food and drinks) and we will shop for you before your arrival.
- Option to attend a competition, clinics, or a hunt.
- Spa treatments in the privacy of your cottage are now available.
